Parents United of North Central Iowa specializes in treating children and adults affected by child sexual abuse, often involving incest within the family. The program offers individual, family, and group therapy combined with professionally guided skill development activities and peer support.
We provide treatment services for children and youth who have been sexually abused, pre-sexualized, or have abused other children, adults molested as children, spouses, siblings, and adolescent and adult offenders. We also serve parents, grandparents, and foster parents who are caring for sexually abused children.
The essential components of the Parents United Program are: Clinical individual, dyadic, and group therapy. Services offered to child and adult victims/survivors, sexual abuse offenders, and non-offending parents/caregivers. A professionally guided self-help component that encourages program members to assist each other, raise funds, network with others, work to reduce child sexual abuse and its trauma, and empower through shared responsibility and achievement.
We have a committed Board of Directors with a cross section of community professionals and concerned citizens. The Board meets once a month and is responsible for the overall programs. .
